This month I started a new subscription box from Loose Button called the Luxe Box.
I have to say, my first impression was great! I actually received TWO boxes. The first being the regular monthly box, and then a bonus Bath & Body box.
In the Bath & Body box I received the Venus & Olay razor (which I’ve been looking for in stores and haven’t been able to find!), as well as Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex.
Inside my actual Luxe Box I received another sample of the Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Revolution Complex, 3 perfume samples (including Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola – Hooray!), Fekkai Shampoo, Conditioner and Treatment pack (x2), and a full size bottle of Essie – Camera from the Poppyrazzi collection!
Overall I’m really impressed because this is the first box I’ve received where I plan to use every single one of the products.
The packaging is also great – your box is wrapped up just like any other subscription box but they use a personalized sticker which makes me feel pretty special 😉
Well it’s the end of May, and that means that it’s beauty box time! My Glymm Box was the first to arrive, and compared to last month I’m not as annoyed by it.
This month, Glymm switched from using a box for their packaging to a makeup bag (not pictured, sorry!). It is actually the most useful part of the box for me, and the reason it’s not pictures is because I’m already using it!
I’ve only used the Lip balm so far, and I quite like it. Nothing special, but it’s a light lip balm and leaves your lips feeling nourished.
I’m also a HUGE fan of perfume samples (I seriously have a drawer full of them) – so the CK shock was great…minus the part where they included a “for him” sample. What the heck am I supposed to do with that!
Next month is going to be my last Glymm box. I decided to cancel my subscription because I’m just not getting good use out of my products. I did replace the Glymm box with another, but I will share that with you tomorrow 😉
If you’re an avid reader of my blog, you probably noticed that I prefer bright nail colours, and sparkle.
I was wandering around the mall last weekend and spotted the OPI New York City Ballet collection in a mini set, and decided that the price was worth giving these a try.
I’m really not a fan – but only because I’ll just never love sheer polishes. Above, I’ve got Care to Danse on all of my fingers, except my ring finger which has Don’t Touch My Tutu. If you can’t really tell the difference, don’t worry. It looks like that in real life too. The colour change is very subtle between the two.
My favourite part of this whole collection is the sheer glitter called Pirouette My Whistle. It’s a silver sheer glitter, with some hexagonal pieces. I’m definitely going to be purchasing a full size of this. It’s literally the perfect glitter. The hexagonal pieces are sheer and don’t take over your whole nail (which is what I dislike about China Glaze Techno).
The set also came with My Pointe Exactly, but I haven’t been able to try that yet!
I’ve decided that every single polish should come in mini form. It would make my life so much easier!
I went to peruse the shelves at Shopper’s Drug Mart the other day, and much to my surprise they had a few new Essie polishes in stock! I settled on one colour (shocker I know!), called Play Date. It’s a beautiful light purple polish, and as seen above, I’ve paired it with Sexy Divide.
Lately my nails have been quite a disaster, which is why you haven’t seen many polish posts. I wish I knew what was going on, but they’re breaking like crazy and just generally thin. It’s awful. I’ve been trying out different nail strengthener’s, and none of them been helping. Sigh.
